Things peta2 Loves … January

Snow days, snowboarding, abominable snowmen, and hypothermia. All go hand-in-hand with the month of January—as does the brand-new edition of "Things peta2 Loves" …

We love New Year's resolutions! Whether you decide to go vegetarian, drop fur from your wardrobe, or leaflet outside a KFC once a week, a new year means a new start for you and animals.

Fur cards are just the right way to tell those special someones walking down the street sporting 40 dead animals on their back exactly what you think of them.

Sweet & Sara vegan marshmallows are the perfect addition to any cup of steaming hot chocolate after a long day of giving the fur-wearers of the world a hard time.

Baking vegan cupcakes is by far the best way to spend a snow day. To get started, check out the latest from Post Punk Kitchen's Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World: 75 Dairy-Free Recipes for Cupcakes That Rule.

Although the world outside your window may be cold and frozen, you can still start an indoor garden. We especially like the Eggling, which looks like an egg, but isn't (i.e., the only kind of "eggs" we like!).

The Shins' new album, Wincing the Night Away, is the perfect accompaniment for sitting next to a fire while knitting your doggie a new vegan sweater.

Did you make 10 tons of vegan ravioli and eat as much as your stomach could take, but you still have leftovers to store? Never fear—the Bento Box comes equipped with handy compartments to store all your vegan delights to take to school with you the next day.

We at peta2 love sledding with dogs, not having dogs pull sleds. We wonder why everyone doesn't feel the same—look at that face!

Nothing says winter like a big fat snowball in the face. Although getting hit with a snowball might at first fill you with rage, it gives you a good reason to start a full-on snowball battle.

We are not exactly sure what this strange, yet highly entertaining, Web site means (or maybe that's why we like it so much), but we do know that it makes us want to pick up and move to Japan.
